Community support
Community groups
The groups are open to anyone who has been approved as an APSE adopter and provide opportunities to connect, socialise and support each other. Groups are run by volunteer adopters who are experienced adopters, and our aim is for every adoptive family in the region to have access to the community.
These can be evening or daytime and in coffee shops, community halls, pubs, parks or wherever we can organise them.
If you are interested in helping us run a group in your area, please contact us!
If you are interested in attending a group, let us know and we will keep you informed of any which are launched in your area.
Community meetups
Meetup sessions are run by peers and are held in-person and online via Microsoft Teams.
They are an opportunity for adoptive parents to chat, meet each other and share experiences, wins and challenges.
Sessions are open to all approved adopters, no matter how long ago you were approved.
“Great to meet with other adopters and realise that there are other people you can talk to, and you are not on your own.”
"Great to share experiences with fellow adopters and hear what worked for them."
